While doing research on the RV-8 and then calling Van's for some clarification, I learned that a gentleman by the name of Sam Samuelian from Medford Lakes, NJ had just purchased an Empennage kit in Novemeber 2009 and had wanted to let it go. Anne provided the contact information for Sam. I called Sam, who quickly returned my call.
We emailed back and forth, came to an agreement on a price, which included the emp kit and the Isham RV Tool Kit. The tool kit included the DRDT-2 and a pnuematic squeezer and most of the tools were still in the plastic and no work was started on the empennage.
What a deal!
My sister Lisa and I drove down on March 5, 2010 in her new 2010 Ford 150. The total trip to Medford Lakes back to Oshawa was 20 hours and 1832 kms or 1138 miles!! But well worth it. Thanks to my great sister for coming with me with her truck and to Sam!
